Production Process
At Pittie, we adopt a transparent and sustainable production process. Our cashmere clothing and accessories are handcrafted by artisan workers in the lap of the Himalayas in Nepal. We embrace zero tolerance towards child labour or any unfair trade practice. Women empowerment is at the heart of every stage of production at our facilities.
Our clothing is produced from the finest quality cashmere fibres that are handpicked from both Outer and Inner Mongolia. The fineness of the cashmere fibres used for our production varies from 15.3 microns to 15.8 microns depending upon the quality our customer is seeking. Our knitwear is produced on 1.5 GG – 18 GG machines. For heavy and chunky knits, we use hand operated flatbed knitting machines in order to ensure a fluffy, delicate and soft hand feel for the finished garment. We knit on automatic machines with German technology to produce finer and intricate knitwear.
In order to support and preserve the art of Himalayan hand knitting, we support a group of hand knitters for special hand knitted garment projects.
Our woven products are produced on handlooms as well as high end power looms and jacquard power looms depending on the required weave structure and product.
We have stringent and high end quality control procedures and follow ISO and BSCI quality guidelines at our production facilities. At every stage of production our product passes through a series of quality checks to ensure a high end finished product.
